MUMMY DON'T KNOW DADDY'S GETTING HOT

"No, no, NO!" It was more of a growl than actual words that came out of his throat, while he threw the letter through the room. The young man was walking around in the room that he had to call his own for now. The letter came only moments after he had settled in and it already ruined his mood even more. Not only was his sister meeting someone he only trusted for as far as he could throw him, now he also got a letter telling him that he got an arranged marriage as well? Why him? They weren't even that high up in the Vylasar family, they only wanted his sister because it was easier. So why did he get to do it? And it was someone from another family? The Rizal's. He had heard of them, of course he had. They were divination sorcerers. This woman, this Fauna, she probably had seen it in one of those visions that she had to marry him.
The emotions in the room made him forget that there was someone else, or something else to be exact. The spectral wolf stood next to the window, keeping his summoner within his sight. The fur of the summon was even more spikey than normally and he growled deep. Deimos looked up when he heard that and a sigh rolled over his lips. "I'm sorry, Häti. I shouldn't get so angry," he apologized to the wolf, who's fur became soft and fluffy again. Deimos placed a hand in the neck of the wolf and petted him, before walking to the window. Chaska should be done by now, maybe he could talk to her about this all. He stepped over his still unpacked stuff, until he found what he was looking for. A leather bag and an easel, before informing the household staff that he was gonna paint in the front yard. Hopefully he could intercept his sister before she went inside, so they could talk in private.

Lythrania sure was a beautiful city. Gifted by the dragon which blood had once been fused with theirs, it made sense that most of their family members, both then and now, decided to settle down here. Unfortunately, the young sorceress wasn't quite able to enjoy the view as much as she would've liked. It wasn't if she came here to sightsee, no. Her visit had been for the sole purpose of getting to know both her bethroted and the place she'd soon call home.
As she walked towards the front yard of the building which didn't quite feel like home yet, her eyes wandered towards a familiar figure setting up his painting tools. A faint smile laced her lips as she changed direction, walking up towards the one familiar face in this unfamiliar place. "Let me guess," she started as she neared both him and his empty canvas. "It's supposed to be a snowstorm in Ravaryn," the sorceress commented in a sacrastic manner, jokingly mocking the white canvas.

His mind was all over the place while he sat down and looked at the easel. He had no concrete plan for this painting, maybe he should just let the strokes guide him. A deep breath and Deimos straightened his back, before picking up his brush and placing it on the canvas. There was nothing, just him thinking back about that damned letter that was in his bag. It annoyed him that it had such an impact on him. He never wanted to get married, he wanted to look for a suitable girlfriend yes, but on his own terms. Not with something like this. With someone who he didn't even know. With a hand he went through his hair and sighed, while he sat back on the little wooden chair and let his arms hang next to himself. This day was one of the worse, but a little light in the dark appeared. A smile came over his face when he heard the sound of his sister and he looked up. He scoffed at her remark about his painting, but shrugged afterwards. "I mean, you're not wrong, yet that wasn't the idea behind it." He spoke with a soft smile. "How was the meeting?" Yes, her problems before his. Like always. He was less important, she was the bride-to-be, the special one. He was nothing, just a troublemaker.

A faint smile laced her lips at her brother's response, making her heart feel a little less heavy from everything it had to endure these days. She appreciated her brother's offer to join her to Lythrania, at least until she'd fully settled here, though the moment where they'd have to part eventually crept ever closer. The sorceress tried her best not to stray within those thoughts for too long. Deimos was here right now, and only Lythrana knew how long it would be until the two of them would have to go their seperate ways.
While his presence reassured her, his question reminded her of her duty once again. Her smile began to fade as she shrugged. "He's alright," she admitted. Ezekiel didn't seem to be a bad man at all. A little strange, perhaps. Though she could imagine him to be just as nervous. "Perhaps, the two of you would even get along," the sorceress continued. Both of them were a little introverted, after all. At least, that's how she'd perceived her betrothed during their first meeting. "Did the two of you have the chance to meet yet?"

He was happy to see her here, she seemed bothered with something, but knowing the recent events, it wasn't really a surprise for him. It had been heavy for the twins, knowing that eventually they had to be separated. And although Deimos had thought he could stay close to her, the damned letter in his pocket told him otherwise. The thought of the letter made him angry again, but he took a deep breath to calm himself down. If he lost his composer next to his sister, things would end bad for him.
Chaska's smile disappeared when he asked about her meeting with her future husband and she shrugged. He knew that nobody would be remotely good enough for his sister, but he had to give her up now. He had to let her go and pray that she would be in safe hands. She told him that he was 'alright' and that would be the only thing Deimos would hear about it. He better be, otherwise Häti might try to get a bite out of him. And no, Deimos did not care that he would attack another summoner, he wished nothing but the best for his sister.
The question Chaska asked pulled him out of his ever so violent thoughts and he looked at her with an almost blank stare. "What?" He asked softly, before recollecting the question. "Oh, no not yet. And I think this will be the reason why we have to wait for that meeting." He pulled out the letter and handed it to his sister. "Apparently, I'm not safe either." He scuffed.

Deimos had been the sole reason she hadn't lost her mind during this visit. He was the only familiar face around here, the last piece of home she was able to hold on to. Perhaps, one day, he'd have to return, but she'd make sure to beg every deity out there to let him stay by her side as long as possible. Spending time with him after her first meeting with Ezekiel was just what she needed.
A chuckle left her lips as she seemingly snapped her brother out if his thoughts. Though, her smile soon faded when she noticed the shift in his behaviour. With furrowed brow she sought out his gaze as he handed her a strange letter. "What's this?" She looked her brother in the eye, refusing to open the letter containing a strange seal she didn't recognize. Her voice cracked with emotion, scared of what the letter could possibly contain. "You're staying, right?" With shaking hands, she tried her best not to crease the letter from holding it too tightly. "You promised you'd stay."

Her smile disappeared when he handed her the lettter and he could swear that he noticed a hint of fear in her eyes. He sighed softly when she asked him what this was. "A letter," he shrugged, knowing that this kind of joke would not be appreciated by his sister, but it was his only way to deal with this kind of shit. He felt guilty when her voice cracked and all he wanted to do was give her a hug an reassure her that he would stay at her side. The problem was that he could not lie to her, it simply wasn't the truth. He had to go, eventually, or at least, the writer of the letter would come here and he had no idea what was going to happen after that. "I want to stay, Cha, I really do." He spoke softly, while he placed his hand on her head. "But appearntly, even a troublemaker like myself can't get out of the clutched of marriage." He hated it, every single thing about it. He never wanted to get married, that was his sister's thing, not his. He would stay single, or atleast find someone he actually cared about. But fate had different plans for him. "It's a letter from Raveryn, it seems our parents made an arrangement with the Rizal family to get me married to one of theirs, one called Fauna. She's coming here, soon, I think. In the letter they told me that I don't have to go there, not that we have to get seperated, but I don't know if I can move with you once your plans with Ezekiel will go through." He took a deep breath and looked away, he hated this, all of this.

After his stupid, sarcastic response the girl clicked her toungue in dissaproval, giving him an annoyed push against his shoulder. It was her away of telling him to 'shut it'. "Not funny, Deimos." Though she tried her best to let her anger come across, her expression was one moslty filled with fear and uncertainty. She was almost certain her brother would be able to see right through it.
The sorceress tried her best to keep up with her tough girl act, but the sudden change of plans caused the mask she'd been wearing all this time to crack. Tears welled up within her eyes as she felt her brother's hand against the top of her head, and for a moment it took her all the strength in the world not to let them fall across her cheeks.
She listened to his words, trying her best to keep her composure. A glimpse of reassurance found her when he told her that this 'Fauna' would be joining them in Lythrania, that he wouldn't have to travel all the way towards the north. It was enough for her to refrain her tears from falling. "That.. sucks," she told him, scoffing at her own stupid answer, though it were the only response she could think of now that her mind was like a hurricane. "When will she be arriving?" Her voice still sounded a little hoarse from the tears that almost got the better of her. She had not even been officially engaged to Ezekiel yet, and their parents already felt like forcing her brother away from her.

He watched her break and it hurt him more than he had anticipated. The tears that welt up in her eyes and slowly rolled down made him look away for a split second. He wondered if it would've been better if he had to travel up north, so that the pain would be less. It was rough to split the twins, but now they both had to endure the pain of seeing each other with someone they didn't want to. If he had to go away, he didn't have to see her like that and maybe that would have given solace to them. The young sorcerer let out a sigh while he watched his sister, once he was done with explaining what was in the letter. She seemed optimistic because he didn't have to go away, but still, was it worth it? He chuckeled softly when she told him that it sucked. "You tell me," he answered softly. "You already went through this." He pulled a stray hair from her face and placed it back behind her ear. "Our parents probably think this would be a good thing for me, to finally discipline the troublemaker." He sighed again. Chaska asked when she would arrive. "Not sure, she didn't specify. I'd say a couple of days, maybe a week or two? I don't know anything but her name and it frustrates me. At least you marry within the family, why do I get an outsider?" He looked away from a moment, feeling anger building inside him. Deimos took a sharp breath and exhaled softly, trying to douse the anger in his chest.
