Ceres Aerendyl

Details

Ceres is believed to be incredibly beautiful, blessed with platinum white strands of hair, sky-blue eyes and fair skin. Despite her gorgeous appearance, the woman does not like to brag about her beauty. She usually wears simple dresses fit for horseback riding and hunting, and only wears luxurious clothing and jewelry during special events. Her long, white hair is usually braided or up in a loose bun, and out of the way.

Rebellious - open-minded - intelligent - wild - passionate - sarcastic - adventurous - honest - headstrong - spirited - witty - fierce - impatient.

Ceres learned to bend water by observing how the moon pushed and pulled the tides. Her bending style is fluid and graceful, acting in concert with the environment. She deals with the flow of energy; she lets her defense become her offense, turning her opponents’ own forces against them. Even when the young elf does take an attack stance, her moves always appear to flow from one to the other, mimicking the flow of the water she bends.

I. Ceres was the firstborn child of Evandyr Aerendyl and his wife Lyrassia Aerendyl, born into the year of 1430 P.F. between the safe walls of Silvercrest.

II. Roughly seven years into her youth, Ceres became the older sister of Rhiannon. She adored her little sibling from the moment the child opened her blue orbs and has maintained a close bond with her ever since.

III. Her mother died from an unknown illness when the girl was just ten years old, leaving Ceres devastated and heartbroken over her death. Somehow, she always thought it was her fault that her mother passed away, but she never spoke it out loud.

IV. Growing up without a mother was hard for Ceres, as she had always felt closer to Lyrassia than to Evandyr. She loved her father just as much as she had loved her mother, but the given fact that she and her dad were too much alike sometimes, drew her more towards Lyrassia when she was still alive.

V. Several years passed and Ceres bloomed into the rebellious daughter she always had been at heart. She grew closer to Evandyr because of it and finally embraced the parts of her she inherited from him. Several Aerendyl family members disapproved of her chaotic and free-spirited behavior, but she couldn’t care less. Ceres had never been one to spend much time with her extended family beyond her younger sister and her father. She despised their rules and customs, finding them old-fashioned and unjust.  

VI. During her teenage years and early twenties, Ceres practiced her magic a lot under the strict guidance of her father, excelling in water bending as a result of it.

VII. Around the age of twenty-seven, Ceres met Yvaine Celaenor when out and about in the woodlands surrounding Silvercrest. From the minute their eyes crossed, she was taken by the young elf. Their unexpected rendez-vous blossomed into a lifelong friendship, one very dear and special to Ceres’ heart. Some might even say that it went beyond that.

VIII. A woman-grown, it was expected of Ceres that she would marry someone with a good family name and produce offspring to secure her lineage. As the rebel she was, she refused any and all marriage proposals, enraging her family in the process. She has been a thorn in their flesh ever since.
