Giulia "Cleo" Grimaldi

Details

Cleo has very dainty features, with perfect porcelain skin, doe-like eyes and an elegant nose. Her cheeks and lips are rosy and her hair is shiny, deep brown in color and quite thick. She is of average height, but appears taller because of her slim figure and the way she carries herself. Her appearance is important to her; not to impress everyone, but out of respect for herself she takes care in the way she looks. In the past she always put her hair up in a very particular style, sometimes she leaving some strands out in a deliberately messy way. Nowadays, she leaves it down from time to time and her thick waves fall a bit below her shoulders.

She wears trousers whenever she can, which, in her eyes, is most of the time. Only when she has a particular formal event or something with her family will she put on a dress. She still has a feminine nature and her clothes are definitely nice, she just chooses to express her femininity differently due to the feeling of freedom the trousers give her. She does like accessorizing and often wears pearl necklaces around her neck.

A chaotic neutral character is an individualist who follows their own heart and generally shirks rules and traditions. Although chaotic neutral characters promote the ideals of freedom, it is their own freedom that comes first; good and evil come second to their need to be free.

ENTJ - The Commander
Commanders are natural-born leaders. People with this personality type embody the gifts of charisma and confidence, and project authority in a way that draws crowds together behind a common goal. However, Commanders are also characterized by an often ruthless level of rationality, using their drive, determination and sharp minds to achieve whatever end they’ve set for themselves.

Cleo is very goal-oriented. She lets nothing and no one stand in the way of achieving her goals and will not hesitate to hurt others along the way. She is focused, determined, independent and stubborn. However, she is not a loner and enjoys the company of others, so long as they can keep up with her. She comes across as someone who has her whole life figured out, which, in a way, she has. Paradoxically, she is very  messy and always loses things. This might have to do with the fact that she is so focused on one thing that she forgets things that seem minor in her mind.

She has a sharp tongue and can be quite sarcastic and dry. Assertive and critical in nature, she can be quite intimidating.

Born as the middle Grimaldi child, Giulia was often left to her own devices. It was always assumed that she could handle herself, not having the pressure of being the oldest, nor the helplessness of the youngest. It was true: from a young age, she was very independent and capable. She's always had a great love for writing, from writing in her journal from a young age to short stories later on. This was always encouraged, although it was in "she'll grow out of it" way. Something to keep her entertained.

The day Giulia learned that her dreams of becoming a writer were unattainable, she was crushed. She was just a child, but it felt like her whole life was set out for her. While her brothers could choose whether to become a knight or not, her path was clear: she would marry well and be a good wife. After this initial shock, she decided for herself that she would at least choose herself whom she would marry, that she would still be her own person.

At the age of 16, she met a boy named Sebastian Hamilton, with whom she instantly clicked. He was funny and bright and always listened to what she had to say. They courted for two years, before marrying when she was 18 years old. As expected, Giulia had her life all figured out.

Things changed fairly quickly after they got married, or rather, he changed. He became dominant and demanding, treating her like she was an object. He was the gem of high society, she his doddling little wife, only there for his entertainment. It made her miserable, but it wasn't until he started drinking and becoming violent that she finally had the courage to leave him. Something that was greatly frowned upon, but she didn't care. She would rather spend the rest of her life alone than with him. She was 21 at the time.

She left for Alderrath a new woman. Desperate to leave her old life behind her, she opted for a new name: Cleo. Derived from her middle name Clémentine, it was short and spicy and fresh and everything she needed. What Sebastian didn't know, what no one knew, was that he had gotten her pregnant only a few weeks before she left. She didn't hesitate for a moment before taking the potion that terminated her pregnancy. She had never had that yearning of becoming a mother, but more importantly she would not carry and certainly not care for anything that was his. No longer did she feel the pressure to adhere to societal norms; she didn't need a man to take care of her when she could just as well make her own damn money. She started writing again: angry essays at first, meant for no one's eyes but her own. They were filled with critique on the society they lived in, mostly in regards to women's rights (or lack thereof). She realised all too well that this was not a way for her to be heard, as they would be discarded after the first sentence was read. Instead, she started writing fictional novels, innocent at first sight but with hidden feminist meanings and lessons. Smart as she was, it didn't take long for her to find someone willing to publish her "friend's" novels under the pseudonym Miguell Medici Gralentinia, an anagram of her full name. After all, there was no chance they would be published if people knew the writer was female.

It didn't take long for people to notice the young, single woman living in the Alderrath Upper Ring. Rumours about her were told plentifully, but she didn't much care. The rumours did, however, reach the right people, and one night she was approached by a woman who told her about an underground feminist movement, The Red Mares. It piqued her interest and it didn't take long to convince her to join. Their goal was to lessen the gender gap within Ashmoor: Women should be allowed to work, to own their own property and they should not be behind men in the line of succession. They try to bring attention to these issues in ways varying in intensity, from propaganda to protests to the occasional disruption. Due to her organised and focused nature, she is currently rising in ranks and trusted with more and more of the plans.
