[FOF] For the greater good

There was something so lovely about a room full of people together under the joint idea of faithfulness. They looked toward the new year: light would soon be upon them again. But the without the darkness there could not be any light. Without death, there could be no period of hope, rebirth and renewal. There was a careful balance that the gods held in their hands, and as their servant she could only try to appease their will.

Most of her evening had been filled with exchanging pleasantries. Many nobles were keen on talking to the new High Priestess of Lemuria, or perhaps, curious as to who she was. None of them had been any wiser as to who was beneath her cloak of otherworldly mystery. Yet she knew things about them, which they were all too keen on sharing. The moon elf sighed as she let the hold on her power slip for a second. In an instant, she felt thoughts pulling at her from all sides. She saw things no one could see, she felt a magical essence slip through the crowd. Before she would get lost in her own power, she opened her eyes once more and smiled more brightly. Especially at the gentleman nearing her now; who the whispers had a lot to say about. Talk to him, listen to him. Emerelle would, even if it was just to entertain herself.
