Bite the bait
If you're feeling lucky,
I can throw the dice away
I can throw the dice away
Well… Already, this evening was going a little differently than planned. The dark-haired woman planted herself against one of the pillars when her companion went over to get them a drink after they shared an unexpectedly heated moment inside the bushes of the garden... Maybe it was not quite that dignified, but honestly, it was not like they could have done it any other way without getting caught. Due to this, it took her a short moment to compose herself again. If only to get rid of the flushed color from her cheeks. Her heart was still beating loudly, and it was not often that Sarya let down her guard for a bit, but in this moment, she did.
Not for long, though, since her eyes quickly moved over the crowd again, scanning the room for possible dangers as she should have done a few seconds ago. Suddenly, she did not feel as cold anymore, and a thin layer of sweat covered her skin, making her glisten. That was when she spotted a familiar-looking woman lurking in the shadows, dressed in what could only be described as Xailan attire. Immediately, she began changing her position, walking toward a spot a little less out in the open, trying not to seem too suspicious. She could not help herself from feeling a little caught off-guard, for which she blamed Rhysand, ofcourse. Maybe he should not have distracted her so much… Even though, this time, she was just as guilty as he was for letting him on. So, she was partially to blame.
Either way, this did not prevent her from cautiously circling around to a point where she could watch the other woman from a safe distance. Observing her every movement to find out what she was doing, but most of all, to figure out how much she had seen. If she was truly dangerous.

Briseis Daetrys
Amidst the crowd stood a figure she had not expected to see for a long time. Dressed in a rather simple dress, the Elaris woman had made sure not to stand out too much. But when someone like Briseis was at a feast, she who had been trained to observe irregularities, there was no escaping her painstakingly precise gaze. As the woman moved, so did the sun elf. As fluid as the shadows that she was known to walk in, she moved to a spot where she could keep her eyes on the Xailan traitor.
Unlike the woman —who had seemed a tad uncomfortable upon seeing her— Briseis was tranquility itself. Her demeanor would seem rather indifferent to those who did not look closely, who paid her no piece of mind. But to those who truly looked, she had turned into an omen of death itself, lingering near and waiting to pounce. It would take a godsend gift to escape her now.
