Aniu Vylasar

Details

Aniu is a beautiful young woman with a some what ethereal aura. She possesses a slender and attractive figure. Rather petite, but still feminine and confident in stature. Her long hair falls like a silky waterfall over her shoulders and is naturally black of color. Her strikingly enigmatic eyes have an almost magical ability to keep one's attention on them. Almost hypnotic, which is not even intentional. Her natural eye color can vary from very dark gray, almost black-looking, to a blue-ish light gray, depending on the light and have been labeled as quite expressive. Her smile is versatile, easily transitioning from a shy and innocent expression to one that's bright or even mischievous.  
She usually keeps her nails on the longer side, elegantly filing them a bit pointy.    

For her perfomances she often makes use of the Illusionist magic from moon mages and elfs to alter her hair and eye color to better match the perfomance. She can be seen in different color hair for that reason.

Aniu is true performer and absolutely loves being on stage. Its the one place where she feels free to express emotions and pour everything she has into her art. On stage she is very expressive, passionate, extraverted and emotionally open. Both mentally, physically and vocally. She has managed to bring even the most stoic of people in her audience to the ferge tears and has had many standing ovations. She is very passionate about what she does and loves working with the people in her field. Always keeping a professional attitude towards it.

Off stage Aniu is a bit more timid, quiet and introverted. On stage she feels like there is a some kind of veil between herself and the audience, but off stage she feels more vulnerable. To protect herself she has a bit of a wall up and has a harder time expressing her emotions, wants and needs. It doesn't help that people often threat her like this mysterious creature after they heard her sing. Her voice has an ethereal and almost unearthly quality to it. For that reason she has gotten the stage name; The Siren. But just because she is more timid off stage doesn't mean she is less confident. It took her a long time to gain the confidence she has now, which she worked hard for, so she's not that easily shaken off of it now.

Family and close friends are important to her. They are the only ones with whom she feels comfortable and with whom she can be herself. Around them she is less timid and more bubbly. She works with a large portion of her close friends, which makes her work a lot more fun. It also means that she doesn't see her family as often as she would like. She is often away going from city to city and sometimes even country to country (except Ashmoor of course) to tour. If she has the change to see her parents or her siblings she always takes it. Being the older sibling she feels rather protective of her brother and sister. Its rare to see her angry or hostile, but if you manage to get her there she can be pretty fierce and sharp, making her actually a bit scary.

Deep down all she wants is being loved and accepted for who she truly is. Being seen for herself and not for the act she does on stage.

As a Vylasar Aniu has been gifted the magic of summoning. She is a strong sorcerer, just like her siblings. She has a deep emotional connection after years of training. A true extension of Aniu. Her familiar took the form of a bright almost white wolf pup with bright blue eyes when she first practiced with her staff. Aniu summons the animal by growling a very specific growl. It's eerie how much it sounds like an actual wolf and often people don't even realise it was Aniu who made the sound. It scared her parents the first couple of times but over time her family got used to it. It still amuses her when she summons the wolf around strangers, which she rarely does. The wolf has grown into a rather large form, even for a wolf familiar, which can look a bit silly and perhaps a little intimidating next to Aniu's petite stature. Especially when it's showing aggression. Aniu never gave it a name for others to use, since to her, the growl she uses to summon it is the name of the familiar.

As they grew older the wolf became incredibly protective of Aniu and her family. As a young child she and her siblings played and practiced a lot with their familiars, forming their own little wolf pack almost. For this reason her familiar can become quite aggressive towards anyone who isn't close nit family. She only summons the wolf when she's with family or by herself, otherwise it might become hostile.  

Aniu was born as the first daughter of Peter and Arabella Vylasar. After about three years the little family expanded with the addition of the twins, Deimos and Chaska. Something Aniu was very excited about. She loved the little babies and was always eager to help her parents. Being the bestest older sister she could be. For a short while her parents were worried that their oldest child had not inherited the magic of their family. When she was handed her staff it took a little while before she showed her magic, but eventually it became clear that she was a true Vylasar. Startling her parents almost daily with the wolf growls she used to summon the little wolf pup.

Her childhood was peaceful and carefree. Aniu often sang for her siblings when they were upset, to calm them down or to put them to sleep. Her parents noticed the unique sound of her singing voice and arranged a singing tudor for her. Over time she quickly became a notable talent. Going even so far that she started to get invited by important people in Lemuria to perform at small events. At first it was maybe once every two or three months. Until she was invited to sing for the king and his court, around her tenth year. It was there where she truly caught the eye of a bigger audience and many important people. It was also where she met Ezriel for the first time. Being similar in age and spending some time at court together, the two became friends.

Just as Aniu started to gain momentum in her path to fame, her sister Chaska started to show strange symtoms. At first the family wasn't as worried, but as time went on, her parents worry grew. They had to put more attention towards their younger daughter, naturally, leaving the now twelve year old Aniu at court more often with a maid. Eventhough Aniu was worried for her sister, she didn't mind it too much, being stuck at court, since she could spent more time with Ezriel. Over time she developed a crush on the young prince, which caused some awkward interactions for sure. She never was able to admit it to the boy, assuming he didn't like her like that at all. The crush never faded though, even now she has a soft spot for the former prince, who she still sees as a dear friend.

After her sixteenth birthday she started working with a royal theatre group, who performed all kinds of acts. Most of them were about the Odiria Deities and historical events. They had seen her perform at court many times and felt that she was finally old enough to join them. She persude her passions and went with them. First a small tour through Lemuria and later, in her late teens, she traveled with them through Xaila and Ravaryn. During one of the shows in Ishgard she met a young man, with whom she had a quick and fiery secret affair. She was young and dumb, far away from her family and feeling more alone than ever, which pushed her into his arms a little too strongly and she quickly fell pregnant. It was of course entirely unplanned and for a short while the two didn't know what to do. Plans were made to elope in an attempt to safe their honor, but deep down Aniu felt panicked with the idea alone. No matter how deeply she cared for the man and the child growing inside her. The situation solved itself. Aniu miscarried just before they eloped. It was an incredibly traumatic experience, and left Aniu with a slew of mixed feelings and thoughts about marriage and having children. She broke of the elopement and returned to Lemuria with her theatre group.

Right before they returned was when Ezriel had made the decision to make an end to the monarchy. Aniu had a hard time understanding why as she believed Ezriel would be the better ruler than both his father and the new counsil. Unaware of the struggle her childhood friend had endured during their time apart. Now that she was back in Lemuria her parents soon started talking about marriage. After her secret heartbreaking experience in Ravaryn Aniu convinced her parents that her singing carreer was more important right now. Pushing the prospect of marriage a little further into her future. But for how long...?
