Ravaryn - Arianna Ylindar (Crown Princess of Ravaryn)

Details

Arianna is a beautiful young woman. She's not particularly tall and has a creamy fair complexion. Her face has soft features and plump lips. She has hazel, doe-like eyes. Her thick hair is black, although in some light it seems to have a deep-brown glow. It falls far over her shoulders and is often decorated with some simple but delicate braids.

Impressions & Attitude

Arianna carries herself like a true princess and she moves around gracefully. Just like her father and the Ylindar rulers before him, she has an aristocratic beauty and haughtiness. She carries herself with great dignity. Due to her status, she can seem quite unattainable. Even though she easily charms those around her, she is not easily wooed. Every now and then, however, she has an instant connection with someone.

Clothing

Where Arianna carries herself like a true princess, she dresses the part too. The most prominent colours she wears are shades of black decorated with (white) gold, as a true Ravarynian. She does have a certain fondness for shades of blue, however. Her dresses are beautifully crafted by experts. She wears flowing tops when she dons skirts. Her jewelry is usually of (white) gold with little gems. She dons a lot of headpieces and headbands.

As a royal, Arianna might look like she has a somewhat frosty demeanor around her. However, this thaws as soon after you first speak to her. She is kind and compassionate to those she knows. Her family comes before all and it is often when she is around her relatives that her more open side truly shines through. But even strangers are treated fairly by her. Her face is often graced with a smile and energy that can warm up a room in the toughest winter nights. She has earned a spot in the hearts of the people of Ravaryn as she grew up, and they have given her a nickname of ‘the Primrose’, for the flower that survives even the coldest of winters.

She is a very bright young lady who adores learning in every matter of the word and has a photographic memory. Rather than be discouraged by others labelling her as a 'bookworm', she gracefully embraces it. An extremely hard-worker,  when she is assigned a task she follows it diligently. She is very dutiful towards her role as Crown Princess, and she shows great heart for her country and its citizens.

As an introvert, she's happiest when she's in a calm place by herself. She comes with a strong independent streak. At times, this lone-wolf behavior can come across as insensitive.It would be a mistake, however, to view her as uncaring. Whatever the stereotypes about her stoic intellect, she feels deeply. When things go wrong, she is personally affected and spends much time and energy trying to figure out why things happened the way that they did.

Arianna is very much a family person. Growing up, her family was her entire world. She has a strong bond with her father, who she takes after most. He is her role model. She used to have a good bond with her mother, until the betrayal came. Arianna was only twelve during the time of her mother's trial, so she had a tough time letting go of Helena once the woman had to leave. With time however, she came to see the severity of the treason and nowadays has a bitter taste in her mouth when she thinks of her mother. Arianna has always been close with her elder brother Regulus and was devastated when he was labeled missing.

Arianna is, in her own beliefs, cursed with dark magic. No one except her father, siblings and high priestess know about this as it is forbidden since the discovery of it. She has shown competence for her magic, but wants nothing to do with it. She despises the thought of taking magical energy of other living creatures and binding it to a weapon. As a child, she carried a certain fascination for the way it works however, that still exists deep down in her.

EARLY YEARS

Arianna Regina Mary Ylindar was born on the warmest summer day as a daughter to King Orion and Queen Helena Ylindar. She was their second child and already showed signs that she was a true princess from young age. Her brother, Crown Prince Regulus was two years older. A year after Arianna's birth her parents welcomed another girl into the world named Adaliah. A year later came brother Marius. When Arianna was five years old, the final two Ylindar children were born: twins named Scorpius and Marcella.

CHILDHOOD YEARS

The girl grew up in the Ishgard, getting accustomed to the values and principles that her family lived by. She had a rather easy life, never really having to worry about anything. From a young age she displayed a skillset for everything having to do with learning, studying. She adored books in every colour and length they came in. In the Ylindar castle the library was everflowing and there she could read all she wanted to after her classes.

Arianna was just twelve when her mother's betrayal came to light. Queen Helena Ylindar had conspired to kill the King on two different occasions and had killed his oldest friend. Instead of death, however, Helena was faced with mercy in the form of banishment and removal from all her titles. Arianna's mother would henceforth be known by her maiden-name: Helena Asra. As a child, Arianna seemed wise beyond her years in understanding what had happened. What she did have a hard time with was letting go of her mother. Even though she had always been a father's girl, this was the toughest thing Arianna ever had to face.  

TEENAGE YEARS

Life went on after her mother's departure. When she was just fourteen, she found a book on dark magic in a hidden section of the Ylindar library. It triggered somethign in her, she felt drawn to it. Her mother had always told her tales about this dark craft, yet never in a bad manner. Arianna didn't quite understand the readings in the book and when she went to her father with it, he strictly told her that magic as dark as that one could only bring harm. As the young girl voiced what her mother had once said about the power of dark magic, her father told her about the reality of it. He reminded her of the war against the dark elves, where the elves had been controlled by dark mages such as in the book. This greatly frightened Arianna and she didn't want anything else to do with it anymore, silently cursing her mother for leaving out the ghastly details of the magic.

Arianna grew more beautiful and bright every day, much to her father's love. Orion started teaching the girl sword fighting when she was about fifteen years old. Even when she could never be a knight he wanted her to be able to defend herself. He also wanted to teach her about the principles of their family through these lessons. At age seventeen, Arianna decided to further pursue her studies in politics, diplomacy, finance, history and anthropology.

ADULTHOOD

The Princess of Ravaryn grew from a beautiful girl into a women who received the love and affection of her people. They adored watching the young Princess walk through the streets and through the halls of the palace. Arianna's life changed once more moons ago, when her brother Regulus didn't return from a hunting trip. A search party went out and moons went by, but the young man was never found. To this day, Arianna still prays to Raanan for her brother's safe return.
