At least they both still had one thing in common, even if Rhysand would not be able to bring himself to love the child… Since, as of now, they were both still unsure of whether this was actually happening or not. All the signs were there, and she knew them well enough for the fact that she had seen this happen in so many other women in the tribe, but never with her. She had felt awfully sick ever since they arrived in the underwater city that was called Lythrania, but she blamed it on the rough journey overseas, even when it seemed to continue for a couple more weeks. So, maybe it had been homesickness? Or possibly the fact that she missed direct sunlight so far beneath the surface of the water. Because while Rhysand certainly seemed to enjoy himself here, she clearly did not.
Her hands softly moved over the roundness of her belly as she turned herself sideways to the mirror, bundling up her nightgown to look. She could hardly believe it as she had called the man who confirmed it a liar possibly a million times over. But she could not deny that she had gained some weight, and that her belly continued to grow rounder each day. So, maybe it was really a miracle that had happened? Maybe her deity had not yet fully abandoned her, finally granting her the possibility to create a new life, even after the many mistakes that she made. Giving her one chance to redeem herself, once and for all.
And maybe, somewhere deep down, the idea was also softly settling in. She took a deep breath before showing a tiny hint of a smile on her face. Closing her eyes and letting a single teardrop roll over her cheek. If this really was a gift from her deity, she would take it with both hands and never take it for granted. She would love and adore this child, treating it like the most precious thing in the world, either with Rhysand by her side, or on her own. Because if he truly wanted to abandon this child, she would not try to stop him. She did not need him if he would not even care about it. Sarya knew she would be very capable of raising this child without his help, but, of course, she would appreciate it if he decided he wanted to be involved in some type of way.
Before she allowed it to fully settle in, however, the fear that she was only imagining things fully grabbed her by the throat again, making her wipe the tear from her face as she turned away from the mirror and decided to get dressed. There was maybe only one way to find out if this was even possible. Moping around all day, laying in bed would not help her now. She had to at least try to get some more answers and since there were no sisters she could rely on in this place, the woman decided to find it in herself to seek out moon elves who were specialized in healing, hoping they might help her. Normally, she was very skeptic about any type information from outside of her trusted circle in Zahriyah, but she had no other choice this time then to at least try to understand the methods and wisdoms found in this place.
After asking around a couple of times, she heard about someone who seemed to have been called here to care for one of the Vylasar family members, so she supposed he had to be good. Oh, and how lucky she was to also fall under the care of some Vylasar who was, supposedly, a good friend of Rhysand. The mysterious one he seemed to be too secretive about. Either way, she found the place of this healer moon elf, knocking impatiently a couple of times on the front door before turning around to keep an eye on the surroundings. As she could never not be careful.

❝ Would you peel an orange for me? ❞
He had made sure that miss Vylasar was tended to. Her and the baby were top priority right now, but both were doing well. Exceptionally well for a first mother in his opinion. In all his years of being a doctor, he had never been rushed in so chaotically for a birth and having it end so well in the process. Usually, it took hours, especially that first time. And with time often came more risks. If there was no carefully guidance with healing moon magic, there was always a chance it could lead to more fatal outcomes. Luckily for him, that rarely happened, and the birth of a new child could be celebrated without much worry. That was why he adored this job as well. To carry the weight of worrying as much as he could and bring a certain joy or hope wherever possible. And if that wasn't something he could offer, he could at least offer relief.
With everything being so calm and easy going at the Vylasar estate, he had moved back to his temporary home in the underwater city. He finally had time to unpack his clothes and arrange some things around the house. He didn't have much, but he had enough... And even though the place still looked relatively empty, he knew it would feel like home eventually. Always having to move back and forth places ever since he was small, he had gotten used to this kind of arrangement. He didn't know if he would ever have his own place where he would always return to, as his job kind of forced him to stay on the move. Who knew, maybe this was the place he could settle in, seeing as the family needed a healer at hand for several things.
He was silently arranging some of his potions when he heard the knock on the door. Tilting his head and checking the time, he frowned. He wasn't expecting any company just yet... And he didn't have any patients on his list outside of the Vylasars in this city. Perhaps it was a servant asking for his urgent return to the castle. He swallowed at that thought as he turned around, adjusting his white blouse a bit before opening the door to his place. He looked around and then down as he saw a woman who looked to be a bit... Well, he didn't know how to label it, but paranoia seemed to be the best word as he had noticed how she had glanced around. "Good afternoon," Noe said calmly. "Is there... Anything I can help you with?" At first glance he didn't see anything peculiar about this woman that could point out urgent care, nor did he see any labels on her that could indicate she worked for the sorcerer family. So... Really, he had no clue what she was doing here. Perhaps she had the wrong house..
