It was quite ironic how little it look for someone’s world to be turned upside down in the blink of an eye, or rather some unforeseen announcement in his case. He still refused to believe it. As soon as the ship had boarded on the Lemurian isles and he found himself at his underwater sanctuary once more, it had finally seemed as if the deities would grant him a break. A brief era of peace, surrounded by both of the people who had given him feeling closest to peace he had ever experienced.

He could’ve known that the deities would have a different fate in mind for him. A fate he hadn’t once considered whenever he’d make love with the woman who had explicitly told him her struggles regarding her fertility. And he had felt bad for her, genuinely. He would’ve liked to see her happy back then, being able so conceive some sort of miracle child, but not after everything that happened between them. Not with him.

The necromancer had swiftly excused himself after her announcement, and the closest tavern had never seemed more inviting. So there he sat, staring at the bottom of his third glass of cheap liquor as he spent his final amount of pocket money given by his Lemurian lover on yet another refill. He needed to collect his thoughts, but not before he’d drown them first.

Having been back a few days after the festivities in Ishgard left Caelum feeling a little restless. He wasn't usually feeling restless, was mostly very laid-back and didn't especially enjoy the fast paced life some tried to seek. So when this feeling came over him, it quite overwhelmed him a little. He tried to tire himself out by training with his swordfighting, getting better, stronger, faster. But it didn't give him the result he was seeking for.

He had met Lauriel again, which had been great to forget all his current family affairs, both involving himself and his relatives. She had been great and it had been something he slowly felt comfortable for expecting with each coming festival they were invited for. He had also met Aniu again, which had been okay, plus her lover, who had been angry at him. Caelum had tried to explain himself, he truely had no bad intentions when Ani and him shared that kiss. Yet it couldn't let him forget the longing feeling that sometimes washed over him.

You wouldn't find Caelum in a tavern often, it was quite unusual actually. But he found himself in one now, walking in and asking himself why he even set foot in here in the first place. But he was here now and he didn't feel like making the journey all the way back to the castle without having at least one drink. So the sorcerer found himself a seat next to another dark-haired man and ordered himself a drink.
