With his lean build and convenient height working in his favor, Rhysand makes a fine warrior. His body is covered in smaller scars from his training, standing out against his olive skin. The man is not averse to some golden jewelry. Aside from his pierced ears, lip and eyebrow, he's never seen without his golden necklace, bracelet and rings, the few pieces of jewelry he didn't leave behind.

Rhysand has always been quite the peculiar member of the family. Disinterested in whatever road his parents had written out for him, the young sorcerer swore to forge his own path instead. Politics never ceased to concern him. Xaila was at peace, there was no need to strengthen ties with anyone using him as an asset, making him father children which would never be able to put their magic to use if they'd be born with the gift of Jhaan.

Instead, his values lay elsewhere, practicing the typical Xailan belief of love and celebration. In other words, stuffing himself with the delicacies of his homeland and feasting upon the finest wine, all while dancing, laughing, ~~fucking~~ and drinking the night away.

Though he swore to never bind himself to a person or a lifestyle, the sorcerer is loyal to a fault. Once his loyalty his earned, one must fuck up immensely before he'd ever turn his back on them. His motives are often questionable to those surrounding him, which will often write him off as some outcast refusing to grow up.

Rhysand was born with the 'gift' of necromancy, the gift some might call a curse. Yet he takes pride in his magic, trying his best ot perfect his magic ever since he was a young boy. Having to be secretive about it, though, he often used the rats in a pantry or back alley as his culprits. His gift of necromancy has left him with questionable morals about life and death, feeling no remorse for the creatures he practices on, believing them to serve a greater purpose and therefore reincarnating as something with more significance in this world.

History

Born on the 26th of the Harvest moon, Rhysand came to this world together with his twin sister Julie as children of Senbeb and Ameera Zinyra, an ambitious pair determined to use their children as valuable assets to either strengthen the bonds between families or climb the social ladder.
Growing up, it became clear which of the twins showed more potential towards achieving their parents' ideals. Yet it didn't stop them from forcing him into that perfect picture. His rebellious acts were strictly punished, causing him to stray from the preferred path of his parents even further, thus sending the relationship between them into a downward spiral.
Eventually, as if Xeion pitied his parents, an opportunity presented itself on a golden plate. A marriage was arranged, one that could possibly save their son from dragging the family down with his reckless and childish behavior. Rhysand was to wed Princess Nephthys Daetrys at age twenty-two, strengthening the bond between Xaila's royal family and the Kingdom's sorcerer bloodline.
The arrangement left him backed into a corner. Though, before he even had a chance to plan is escape, the young sorcerer found himself within the sun ring once more, proving himself worthy of Nepththys' hand as all of Al-Qahil watched. Unleashing his fear and frustrations about the arrangement upon his opponent, Rhys managed to win the fight, but at what cost. There would be no chance to back out anymore.
When their big day arrived, the sorcerer had disappeared without a trace, leaving his family furious and his bride without her betrothed as he fled the capital, eager to throw away his whole life and identity to escape his fate. He would much rather live out his days as a vagabond, earning coin through small jobs or trade when he would run out spendings.
His journey took him to Zahriya, quietly living among its citizens as 'Drystan', under the roof of a local trader while he served as his helping hand and protector on his travels. It didn't compare to his life back in Al-Qahil, where he could spend the riches of his family on whatever pleasures he desired, but it was alright.
Within Zahriya, he had been quick to notice the influence of the Sun Sisters, a tribe consisting of mostly women which managed to catch his attention, especially after finding out about their ancestry. Perhaps, if he were to come clear about his identity, he could join their ranks as an Elaris, able to enjoy the benefits of their influence without having to adhere to the responsibilities he'd ran away from.

Trivia

From a young age, Rhys has been trained within the art of using a spear in combat, making him a skilled fighter.
Rhys 'owns' a horse named Yahya, which he 'borrowed' from his family during his escape, along with a few pouches of coin.
