Details

Standing tall at 1.90 m (6 feet 3 inches) Everett is a rather striking figure. He possesses a sense of maturity and experience that complements his rugged appearance. In addition to his strong and muscular physique, which is a testament to his hard work as a farrier and musher. The demanding physical labor of forging horseshoes and guiding sled dogs has sculpted his body into a powerful and agile form. Despite his strength and roughness, there's an undeniable charm to his smile, which radiates warmth and charisma, drawing others in with ease. His light brown, wavy hair cascades gracefully down his shoulders, often tide out of his face and accompanied by a slightly darker tinned beard.

Unlike the dark woodtoned eyes of his brother, Everett's captivating blue eyes mirror the shimmering ice crystals adorning the snow-covered landscape of Woodpine. They hold the essence of the frozen forests, deep and enigmatic, a testament to the wisdom he has acquired from growing up in such a challenging environment.

His usual attire echoes the practicality and resourcefulness of Woodpine's villagers. He wears sturdy, weathered garments suited for the cold climate, with a fur-lined coat to shield him from the biting winds of the Frostcrown's Pine. The materials used for his clothing are locally sourced, crafted with care and expertise by the skilled artisans of the village.
Personality
Constellation The Hunter
Alignment Lawful Neutral
Having grown up in the close-knit community of Woodpine, Everett embodies the village's values of hard work, cooperation, and respect for nature. His upbringing has instilled in him a profound sense of law-abiding ethics, and he carries himself with a quiet but unwavering sense of integrity. This isn't always his true color, since he does have a rather cunning and somewhat selfserving way about him.

A deep connection with animals is evident in the way Everett carries himself. He treats the horses he cares for with gentle affection, and his sled dogs are not just working companions but also cherished friends. He understands the animals' needs and moods, forming a unique bond with each of them.

As the oldest he was raised with a strong sence of responsibility for and to his family and home. An identity he made his own from a farely early age. Doing his best to become the son his parents wanted him to be and the man his village needed him to be. Growing up very protective over his mother and younger brother, while also craving the aproval of his abusive father wasn't always easy and it eventually shaped him into the man he is today.

History

  • Everett was born the first son and the oldest of the Armstead family.
  • Growing up in a rather tumultuous household, under the violent hands of a harsh and often drunk father, he and his brother were taught some hard lessons with both words and fists
  • He often stood in between his father and little brother or mother in an attempt to take the brunt of the beating and protect all of them.
  • He was still loyal to his family, keeping up appearances like his father wanted; nobody needed to know what happened behind closed doors.
  • Even though Everett was a couple years older and stronger than his little brother, he cherished a close bond with him in their childhood. He often fought off bullies who bothered him for being an outcast among their peers.
  • Everett found himself often drawn to the mushers and sled dogs in town. Starting to learn from them and work with them. The mushers saw a talent in him with the animals and appreciated the help from the young lad, willing to launch him into a future as a musher himself.
  • At the command of his father, he also started learning under a blacksmith and started the path to becoming a farrier for the village. He was once again more drawn towards the animals within the job than anything else.
  • His life was relatively stable; even with the struggles at home, he was able to hide out in his jobs or with his friends exploring the woods.
  • Everything changed on the day their beloved family pet dog died. Horrible things happened that day within their household, and Everett learned strange truths about his little brother.
  • After that day, his father treated him differently. He had no interest in Everett anymore and basically pushed him aside, only focusing on his youngest son. Something that hurt Everett deeply and brought life to a resentment towards his little brother that slowly started to brew under the surface.
  • He grew closer to his mother, as she was the only one still willing to show love and care for him.
  • Everett was aware of the sketchy things going on within their home, but as he had learned to keep up the appearances, he decided to turn a blind eye. He pretended he didn't know and didn't try to learn more about it all. He mostly kept focused on his jobs and the care of his mother. A decision he would come to regret deeply.
  • As time went on, Everett started to distance himself more and more from his father and brother, letting the wedge that had come in between them push deeper and deeper while his resentment boiled more and more.
  • He attempted to become a man of his own. Find his own place and start his own family. After some attempts to find love and his first heartbreak, he found a sweet, caring girl he liked and, more importantly, who liked him back. Eventually, after a successful reindeer hunt, he asked the girl to be his wife.
  • Despite the strange happenings and killings that held the village of Woodpine in its grasp, Everett's happy ending seemed to be within reach; he had a loving wife and a child on the way. He was a skilled farrier and did some work as a musher for the village with his own dogs every once in a while. But once again, all of that changed at the hands of his brother.
  • His father was accused, tried, and found guilty of the murders that had been happening. And the accuser was none other than his own brother. Everett struggled with these turns of events—the loss of his father and the secrets he had to keep for the sake of his brother and mother.
  • It was those secrets and lies that drove their mother to leave the village and the only home Everett ever had. He couldn't just let her go alone with his brother, so he decided to leave with them, but only for a short while. Leaving his pregnant wife in the caring arms of her own family, where she would be safer.
  • Fortune wasn't on the side of the Armstead's. Within the first days of travel, Everett and his mother were held at knifepoint by some guard's who didn't trust his brother's story. Despite Everett's desperate pleas to his brother, a horrible fight ensued. The guard who held a knife to his throat, froze in fear, but Everett managed to snap him out of it. The guard pulled him away from the fight and tied him down. All the while, Everett had to listen to and watch the horrors his brother caused from afar.
  • The guard stole his brother's horse and stowed him on it's back to bring him back to the village. On the way Everett managed to escape, however, and knocked the guard unconscious. He took his brother's horse and hastily rode back to the blood-soaked road and piles of bodies left by his brother.
  • When he arrived, the first thing he saw was that his beloved mother was dead. He held her in his arms as he cried out for her. He promised her that he would find the one who caused all this and avenge her and his father's deaths. Letting the anger and resentment towards his brother finally come to a screaming boil.
  • Before he could start hunting down that man, however, he was caught by a second group of guards. They arrested him in his brothers stead, since they had nobody else to take back. Blaming him for the slaughter and horror left by the true culprit.
  • Everett was thrown in a cell where his already crumbling life was completely disintegrated. One of the guards that was killed turned out to be his brother-in-law, an offence his wife couldn't forgive him for. She came to visit him before his trial, spitting on him and wishing her own husband a death as painful as her brother's.
  • He had lost everything. His father, his mother, his wife, and the prospect of a happy life with her and their child. Even if he was allowed to live his reputation and the happiness he had known in the village would be ruined. All he had left was his searing anger for his brother and the burning need for revenge.
  • Somehow Everett had some luck left because at his trial, the guard, whom he had knocked unconscious, was able to confirm his story that he wasn't the one who'd done all the murder. He confessed about everything his brother had done, both on the road and in the village. And the village wanted justice. So Everett struck a deal: Let him go to find and bring his brother back to justice. Alive or dead. It was all he could do now to save his own life.
  • And so they let him go. Everett prepared for a journey, packed his brother's horse, and rode south to find him and put an end to all the crimes, pain, and suffering he had left in his wake. Something he should've done years ago.

Trivia

  • He was jockingly nicknamed Ferret by his friends and brother as a kid.
  • He once had a deep love for another woman whom he wanted to marry. Her connection to him didn't go as deep, and he was unable to convince her to become his wife. While locked up for his brother's crimes, he discovered, through the gossiping guards, that not only had his brother layed with her in secret, but the bastard had also impregnated her and left her life in ruins as well. Adding another reason for Everett to hate him.
  • Even though he's well trained in sword and axe wielding, and his main weapon of choice would be the battle axe, he is a surprisingly skilled archer.
  • He was a rather loved member of the society within Woodpine before his brother ruined everything.
  • Everett didn't fully know the extent of his brothers magic.
  • Everett doesn't know his brother changed his name.
  • He hopes that by bringing his brother to justice, he will be able to get his wife and unborn child back.
  • More will be added later
