Raphael was born into the royal Ylindar family within the grand walls of the Ylindar castle. Raised alongside his siblings, he lived amidst the splendor and expectations befitting his royal lineage. His childhood was marked by the bittersweet memory of a nurturing mother who, unfortunately, left this world too soon. This loss cast a melancholic shadow over the castle halls, leaving him to navigate his formative years without the comforting presence of a maternal figure.
At a young age, Raphael exhibited a unique inclination toward the arts, displaying an early talent for writing and painting. His interest in creativity became apparent, sparking a love for storytelling and the visual arts that set him apart from his more traditionally inclined peers. As he matured, however, his artistic endeavors began to influence his personal style.The emergence of more feminine and extravagant expressions in his attire and demeanor caught the attention of his father, raising initial concerns.
As his interests shifted towards men rather than women, his father's concerns escalated into anger and disappointment. When the truth of Raphael's romantic inclinations came to light, his father vehemently rejected his son's desires, deeming them sinful and unacceptable. Despite his artistic haven, Raphael faces the looming prospect of an arranged marriage. The thought of marrying a woman for political gain fills him with dread, as he yearns for a life of authenticity and, perhaps even true love.
The relationship with his father remains strained to this day, with the man unable to accept Raphael's divergence from his expectations and the the Ravaryn norm. Yet, despite his displeasure towards the way his father perceives him, he finds himself seeking out glimpses of approval whenever he cracks a small smile at some of his written plays.
