Details

Azriel is a tall, heartbreakingly handsome man with dark hair. His skin is quite tan, except when his magic drains his energy. He is very muscular and it is clear that he trains a lot. He also has tattoos decorating his arms and chest.

Impressions & Attitude

 He is devastatingly beautiful and he knows it. He acts very arrogant about his appearance,  occasionally throwing jokes and comments about his heartbreaking beauty. He is an excellent communicator and speaks with irresistible eloquence and sensitivity.

Clothing

He wears rich clothing that embodies his Xailan heritage. He is unafraid of wearing the colours of the sun, as he knows it compliments his appearance. He has a fondness for being cloaked in tendrils of night. His garments are often embroidered with either gold or silver threads, and he wears accessories that match. His garments consist of long tunics, coats, flowing blouses, black pants and dark coloured boots.

Azriel is a natural born leader. He possesses a unique blend of casualness, courteousness, and grace, which embodies both a dangerous allure as well as beauty and remarkable charm. He has an uncanny ability to pick up on people’s underlying motivations and beliefs, enabling him to quickly understand their minds and hearts. This gift makes him a compelling and inspiring communicator. His words consistently resonate with others, as he navigates conversations with tact and consideration, seldom appearing brash or pushy.

He possesses an intriguing mix of darkness, mystery, swagger, and sensuality that surrounds him. However, much of this persona is merely a facade. Deep down, he is a genuinely kind, generous, and humble individual. Despite his shadowy and aloof exterior, he harbours a fierce and passionate love for those who hold a special place in his heart. He seldom backs down from doing what is right, even when faced with challenging circumstances.

He is a very arrogant man: with his awareness of his own striking handsomeness and wit, he occasionally makes remarks about himself. He is a skilled "shameless flirt" adept in manipulation, deception, trickery, and lies, seamlessly and often concealing his emotions. While Azriel is known for being insightful, he may sometimes misread a situation or unwittingly give bad advice.

Azriel is a very proficient sorcerer who possesses a unique mastery over the art of Necromancy. Guided and mentored by both his father and mother, Azriel's training has allowed him to tap into the dark powers of the undead. Senbeb was especially hard on his son during this training, wanting his eldest to be the perfect sorcerer and a beacon for his side of the family. If Azriel could not perform the way his father wanted him to he would be both mentally and physically tormented into perfection. As he delves deeper into the mysteries of the undead, Azriel strives to harness his gift responsibly and cautiously, knowing that the power he wields can be both a blessing and a curse.

Through channelling the magic within him, rather than chanting out spells, Azriel can bring a lifeless body back to the realm of the living. When he resurrects someone, their soul remains forever lost, a sacrifice made to breathe life into their empty vessel. They exist solely to serve Azriel, bound to him as their master. Due to his extensive training Azriel is able to bring quite a number of bodies back to life at the same time.

However, like all sorcerers, Azriel is not impervious to weaknesses. The immense power required to revive a deceased person exacts a heavy toll on his energy reserves. When he performs an extensive amount, he starts to feel like death warmed up; he can’t perform many physical activities and sometimes needs to rest for days on end –much to the dismay of his father, who will often force him back to his feet. Not only that, he also starts to look like a corpse himself: the colour drains from his face and if he does not eat properly to compensate, his body will lose all the muscle it has built up.

Azriel Jahzir Zinyra was born as the eldest son of Senbeb and Ameera Zinyra. One-and-a-half year after his birth the couple was blessed with twins: Rhysand and Julie. His parents raised him in an extremely strict and ruthless manner, expecting nothing but perfection from the young boy. They showed little empathy toward him or his feelings, and were more concentrated on shaping him into the perfect child.

Azriel got an extensive education: his days were spent with lessons in magic, politics, history and rhetoric. If he wasn’t practising his social skills, he would be horse riding and learning everything there was to learn about Xaila. There was little free time left for his own interests. His parents made sure that Azriel would be a most competent sorcerer after recognizing his potential. His intense training started from a young age, by both his father and mother. Whenever he made a mistake, he would face hellfire from his parents. His father was unafraid to lash out at him, and his mother was all too fond of manipulating her little boy into an acceptable man of high society.

When Azriel was fifteen, he decided that he wanted to be able to rely on things other than his mind and magic. Whatever frustrations he had he could let out during this time, with the few friends he had. What he enjoyed most about this was that they did not mind him being imperfect.

As soon as he was eighteen, he faced the Proving. Under the watchful eyes of his parents, he managed to ruthlessly win his match. They could not be more proud of their son, doting about him to all their friends. Azriel experienced little of their pride behind the scenes.

When Azriel’s brother was betrothed to a Princess of Xaila, their parents were overjoyed. Finally, Rhysand had done something right and Azriel felt relieved to have the pressure taken off him. How wrong he was.. The day of the wedding left the family with no marriage and a missing son. It was safe to say that the pressure on their eldest son would only increase from here. The young man tried to find his brother, but it was to no avail: Rhysand was gone. The brothers had always relied on each other to face their parents’ expectations, and now it was no more. Azriel felt heartbroken.

After his brother had gone, Azriel became even more of a mixture of darkness, mystery, swagger, and sensuality that he is so known for today. In reality, it was a facade to hide his own genuine kindness and humbleness from the eyes of the world.
