It had gotten to him more than he'd like to admit, this scorching heat that even within the capital seemed unmerciful. It truly had come in lucky that his time here was bound to be with little sleep during the day, so he could at least sleep away the worst of it. Yet today, that wouldn't be the case, as this was a day where even during the day the activities were plentiful and much was to be seen. And thus, the elf made his way through one of the more calmer streets in town, a quick moment to catch his breath in it's calmth and reset before entering the busy many plaza again.

To his left, however, he saw reason to stay a little longer in the form of a certain Sorcesseror whose company he had begun to appreciate greatly on his trip down south. Together they'd pass time by challenging each other, and by Lythrana, his hand was still scarred by the ropes they'd climb in challenge to see who was the fastest. The elf grinned a little upon seeing him, leaned over some very Xailan looking dishes, sparking up many ideas within the elf's manly brain. "Ezekiel, what a surprise!" he greeted his friend whilst walking up to him, joining him in the shade this building provided, "Not around your wife? Is the honeymoon phase over already?"  he teased as he invited himself next to him "got to say, this feast is quite the honeymoon is it not?" the elf continued whilst looking over the wide arrange of foods the vendor sold alongside some strong-looking spirits. He grinned a little, seemed like a great laugh already, a challenge he'd be up to if the man next to him was.

+ Eze

Xaila had been a very welcome distraction. He wouldn't admit it out loud, but he loved this place. He loved the sun, real sun, on his skin and the wind that felt warm too. He loved the carefree nature the people in this land had. He loved the music, even the smell. Ever since he boarded that ship towards the South, he had been in a good mood. The sea breeze had done wonders, as did the spray of salty water as he leaned over the balustrade of the ship. He was already much more tanned than he was back home, as he had settled into the Zinyra's homestead.

When Chaska had decided to rest up and make herself pretty for the coming festivities, he had decided to head out for a moment by himself, exploring more calmer streets of the capital. He wanted to bring some of the taste of Xaila home with him, even when he was not that much of a hero with the hotter spices. As he conversed with one of the vendors about what was what, he was spotted by a familiar person.

Ezekiel turned his head towards the Moon elf. Oh deary me. The sorcerer gave him a small nod to greet him. He had warmed up a bit to the man. At first he couldn't stand his always happy, always positive nature. But after a few weeks spend on a ship, he had started to tolerate him. Even when he wanted to show of what he new about the sea, some things were even interesting. But most of it, he was the only one that wanted to join in his shenanigans, climbing up the masts of the ship, leaning in the ropes and even race with him. His hands were still callous from the many times he had challenged him.

The younger scoffed as he brought up "the wife". ‘‘We are not attached at the hip, you know,’’ he spoke as he faced the small moon elf. He crossed his arms in front of his body as he spoke about the feast and he nodded in agreement. ‘‘Hm-m,’’ he grunted, his two-colored eyes gliding over the surrounding streets, filled with people dressed in colorful robes. ‘‘It sure is something.’’ He tried to sound aloof, but his eyes were sparkling. He wanted to make the most of this trip, not waste a single moment. And so he turned back to the street vendor. ‘‘Have you tried this food, Rhydian? It's nothing like Lemurian dishes.’’

If he had to go off of what he had seen from the pair these past few weeks- perhaps the man's reply hadn't been far from expected. Rhydian had watched the two with quite some confusion from time to time, after all, these were supposed to be their weeks of bliss, were they not? Yet maybe both of them were the aloof kind- especially the husband it seemed, as this aloofness carried through into his opinion of the festivities and places of visitation.

Rhydian smiled sheepishly as he had trouble reading the Lythranian's feelings, though witnessed the sparkle dancing upon his dark eyes, suggesting there might be more joy behind the words he chose to speak and the demeanour he decided to hold. Or at least, Rhydian deemed it enough of a hint to go off on, smiling a bit more brighter in front of the Sorcesseror. "Right? I have to admit, moments like these make me miss the navy a little less" he chuckled, having a shadow of doubt cast over the echo of his words left within his thoughts. After all, it wasn't as though this leave from the army had been one he had chosen.

Yet, his smile did not seem to falter in front of his newfound friend, in fact it only grew when the guy pressed forward their conversation. A curious glance dawning upon his eyes as they followed Ezekiel's toward the vendor. "I have, though nothing like the foods i see here" he answered. The Aerendyls had found accommodation within Xaila's royal palace, it would be extremely narrow minded to think the food they were given there would be anything like the street food presented here. "Let me get us some" he continued eagerly to try this food Ezekiel seemed knowledgable on. "What do you recommend friend?"

Most people would think they were crazy to sail towards Xaila in the height of sunpeak, their skins not used to the bright rays of sunlight and their bodies not adjusted to the heat. But Ezekiel had found himself adapting to Xaila pretty easily. Maybe it was because he had been here before, but that one time shouldn't make such a difference, did it? Maybe he had some roots here after all, who knew. But in contrast to his wife, his skin had gotten honey, while hers had gotten red.

He loved Xaila, and he tried not to show it too much. Maybe it was just the happiness of being away from home for a while and indulging him in a different culture. And as he saw the people roaming the streets, heard their slightly different accents, he couldn't help but just enjoy their presence. Ezekiel looked back at the moon elf who told him that he might be missing the navy a bit less. ‘‘Well, it is a more colorful sight than endless seas,’’ he joked as he shoved his shoulder slightly to the man's side, trying to lighten the mood a bit. He seemed at ease at the ship, a slightly bit less of the annoying optimist he usually was. ‘‘I'm sure they wouldn't let you feast like this in the navy.’’

Ezekiel look over to the lost sailor as he told he had tried a bit. They hadn't eaten together after they left the ship, so he hummed in agreement. And as he so kindly offered to treat them on a few bites, his lips curled in a cheeky smirk. ‘‘Oh, let me tell you!’’ He remembered the prank Rhysand played om him all those years ago, and he went over to the vendor and picked out a few dishes. Among them, the angriest tasting spice he ever had the displeasure of having in his mouth. He spoke his thanks to the vendor as he took on the plates and turned to Rhydian, handing him his portion. There were actually some nice snacks between them as well, so Ezekiel tried to act as cool as possibly as he took a bite of a piece of flatbread. ‘‘Thank you for the treat,’’ he spoke with his mouth half-full.
