Big teddy bear, super stronk.

Even when Brann isn't shifted in his animal of choice, it's clear to see this must be the form of a bear. Broad well defined shoulders  hide underneath his trademark thick winter coat and his height alone is sure to intimidate whoever crosses his path. He's a man of few words and doesn't need to say a lot to show he means business. He's a down to earth individual who doesn't seem to care all too much about his appearance nor how he comes across to others. His attire usually consists of the first clothes he saw hanging around and are mostly coloured in dull browns and blacks.  

As a true northerner, Brann is rough around the edges when you meet him. A man of few words,  Sharp-witted, calm and rather distrusting of others- he's not someone who's easily approachable at first sight.  He's a deterrent feller with a demeanour that rarely shifts. A big stubborn man, who's set in his ways and rarely changes course. His outward personality reflects that of the barren land he grew up in, calm, cold and unforgiving. He's not afraid to swing fists for what he thinks is right, especially since he has trouble resolving conflict with words. Apart from that, it's also very clear that he's not necessarily the smartest of the bunch when it comes to social interaction or perception. He speaks very simple English and has trouble finding the underlying intentions and meanings in things. Brann thinks in black and white, good and wrong, and simply does what must be done. However, when it comes to animals he can fill you in on everything there is to know about each species, subspecies and habitat.

His innerspirit however  is that of a true nurturer. Once you get his approval and once he deems you worthy of his trust and  true colours, he's known to be a true protective character with a sense of humor,  who would do nothing more than his absolute best to ensure the safety of those he cares for and the natural world around him that he, as a druid, naturally values a lot. He takes his role as guardian of flora and fauna extremely serious, even if he doesn't spend as much time in his home forests anymore.  And would break bones over a deer hunted for sport. Finding sadness and grief in woods being cut down for the selfish needs of man, despite having lived among them for a long while. He's dogmatically loyal to his morals and worldviews. And would set the world ablaze for the few people he cares for. He's scary, but he's also a teddy bear.  

Years and years ago when the first people entered Odiria, Ubbe Skygge and his wife were present amongst the roaming tribes. Both of them were druids, very skilled in shapeshifting. But what they did for the tribe was more important. Ubbe and his wife were renowned hunters and were very skilled fighters as well. Which was exactly what they did for the tribe. Providing them with food and protection. First it was focused on the tribe as a whole. But as some time had passed, they focussed more on protecting the chieftain.

They soon became a small family of five, evolving themselves into warriors, hunters, fishermen and pelt hunters and sellers while time progressed. Due to the fact that the Skygge’s swore to protect the chieftain and his family. They became the sole protectors of a family called the Trygg’s. A relationship that has survived time and still stands to this very day. (Caro, 2023)

Brann was born as the second son to Vukasin Skygge and Accalia Skygge. Following his older brother Arkyn. As young as a few months old it became clear Brann would be more of the quiet type. He barely cried, barely screamed- all he did was smile softly and laugh. Growing up he was particularly close to his mother and adored nature, listening eagerly to the stories told to him by his parents. The druid ways and their history the young boy felt close with. And to this day still holds up with great pride. At three years old he welcomed two younger siblings into the world, making him the invincible middle child.  At a young age, the boy showed to have an affinity to shapeshifting. Shifting for the first time at the age of five whilst playfighting with his older brother Arkyn. It was quite a scary experience for the little bear cub. He and his parents couldn't be happier, however.  And this cheer motivated him to keep practising, shifting quite a lot, expecting to get applause every time. Meanwhile, he also started to look up to his older brother more and more. Arkyn was a great fighter for his age, practising and learning from Raveryn's best. His quiet little brother wanted to be just like him. Great with the sword, great in his parent's eyes. It was a family legacy after all. And family- it meant everything to the little man.  

Sadly however, it did not take long for the boy's dreams to be crushed. It turned out that unlike his brother, he was terrible with the sword. Awefull with the bow and even worse with the axe. It turned out that weopans were more a danger to himself than his enemies. He was clumsy and reckless. And to great disappointment of his parents, who already seemed to favor Arkyn,  not fit for a role in the army as they have had. Hurting Brann great for in his mind he did not only let his folks down, but also his older brother. Luckily however, being in his brothers shadow meant he had time to read. To study and work on his shifting skills. As the universe had given him quite the mighty beast to shift into, one that took an awful amount of skills and work to fully get under control without tiring ones self out. It was around this time he first met a friend of his brothers, Ran trygg. She was two years older than him and he hated her. She was annoying.

To get even more out of his skill, Brann got himself a job down at the docks of Raveryn. As for him it seemed to only logical way to be useful- even if his parents didn't fully support the idea. All day he pulled his weight around the waters of raveryn. Through the worst blizzards and the most awful storms he went. It hardened him, and strengthened him- which eventually got the attention of the new governess Ran Trygg. Now older but still annoying. She'd visit him a lot and over the months, managed to break through his harsh outer shell and dug her way into his care and heart. They did a lot together, drinking, going on strolls outside- they made a team joined by his older brother a lot as well.

Ran saw potential in him. Both in his personally and his strength. And offered him a job at the castle, lending her his extreme strength and bear claws at the need. It was a position he couldn't refuse for it would get him his parent's pride- and it would mean he could work alongside his brother Arkyn. Nowadays he lives with Ran in her home, taking on a policing role mostly around town as her right hand man. He walks the streets and keeps them in check as an officer of the governess. And when push comes to shove, is there to defend her if he must.
