Lionel Winter

Details

Lionel is a sight to behold. Standing tall with his height of 2 meters. And his piercing blue eyes, that almost seem to look straight into someone's very soul. And his wheat blond hair; that curls the very same way his mustache does. Together with his white skin, that is littered with all kinds of scars. This Winter is hard to overlook. It's a good thing, then; that all his features come together very well. Making the man very handsome indeed.

Clothing

Lionel can often be seen wearing military clothing, his navy suits in particular. Even when he's not on duty. On the rare occasion, he is not wearing his work attire. The man wears things that look very similar. Anything the man dons, though, is made of the highest material. And it is clear the cloth is very well taken care off. It had a brand-new kind of look, even though it might be years old in reality. His clothing is often very tight-fitting, being tailor-made to his exact measure meant. Yet, the man seems to move in them without any problem or restraint.

Demeanor

Lionel is a very serious man, that is evident from the way he holds himself. Always standing upright, with his head held high. Seemingly looking down on anyone he can. You'd think this would give him an arrogant, if not vain, air around him. But that's not actually the case; what he presents to the other world is very neutral. Not showing much emotion at all. He is very reserved. And therefor hard to read. Lionel does however have very good manners, and is therefor very polite. Something he shows to almost everyone, be they high or low. 

Lionel might at first glance seem to be a very cold man. Being to duty and what that does, or doesn't entail. He is very willing to put aside his own feelings if something must be done for the betterment of the greater good. This is a mentality he will force on those around him. Though for his nearest and dearest, it will be much harder for him to do so. Lionel doesn't often show affection, and it's difficult for a person to worm their way into his heart. Thanks to the countless walls he has built around himself. But when he truly loves a person, it will never leave him. And he will do what he can to not only protect that person, but keep them happy. But life is hard and sometimes happiness just isn't an option. Something that Lionel knows all too well. He himself has given up on that dream. And instead followed the path his family wanted him to. Death and suffering is something he is quite used to. Being a navy officer, he often fights in battles to protect the shores of ashmoor. Long range mostly, but sometimes it escalates into close combat, and when it does, he has no qualms about killing anyone who posses a threat. This winner doesn't enjoy killing; he sees it as something that must be done. He is simply following the rules. Something that is very important to him, and he will always do. Well; maybe not always. His own moral compass has been known to stop him from time to time. Lionel is a very disciplined man, one has to be when they spend months away at sea. Scouring the sea's for potential threats, coming up with new battle strategies and alike. But the man also has many other hobbies he likes to partake in. All that take time and patience to not only learn, but master. Something that Lionel will give in abundance if he feels the skill he gains from it is worth it. The man is thus also very intelligent and talented, anything he undertakes he seems to have a natural knack for. Though, he never flaunts or acts self-regarding. He is despite everything a very humble man. Lionel is much more of an observer than a talker, though he will make his opinions quite clear when he feels like he has to. 

Lionel is an officer in the navy, he started off as a simple cadet. But proved himself to be much more than that. He has disgusted himself in many battles, and therefor rose through the ranks and received many medals for his Leadership, comradery and bravery. Something that made him, despite his relatively young age. A Vice admiral, Lionel is thanks to his winter connections (I'd like to think the family kinda uses him as a propagande tool, ya know? they hype him up; in an attempt to show the rest of Ashmoor how strong the Winter family is and that their men are born leaders ect) very well known throughout Ashmoor and seen by many as a hero for his efforts. He is, however, often away at sea. The voyages he takes can last for months at a time. And thus is not often seen in public.

Lionel was born the first son of Reginald, brother to the current duke of Ashmoor. He was, in fact; the first child of the second generation of Winters Therefore, the boy received a lot of care and attention. And a lot was expected of him. But despite the high standards those around had set in place for him. He grew up relatively normal, having a childhood that many other high-born children had. Consisting mostly of studying and getting trained in varies other fields. Like sword fight and alike. But he also had times of levity in his youth, having a goods relationship with both his parents. And his siblings. Especially his younger brother Louis. Since the two were so close in age, being only a year apart. They formed a close bond, and were often seen together. 

Lionel was enlisted by his father, when he was but a boy, in the Ashmoorian army. Where he was treated like any other soldier. His brother Louis soon joined him. First, Lionel was mostly used on the field. But he quickly requested to be transported to the navy instead. Feeling that he'd be much better off there. It was a move that proved to be the right one. Since the Winter boy quickly made much more progress on sea than he ever did on land. He worked hard, hoping to be the man his father wanted him to be. He rose through the ranks, and eventually become quite the hero. Fighting in countless battles, and winning almost all of them. For his service he was named an Admiral. 

However, thanks to his intense focus on his career. Something that often made him stay away for months on end. He neglected some other parts of his duties. Like marriage, and his family relationships. He is back now, though, having taken a break from his military duties. In hopes to change all of that.
