Morgana Celaenor

Details

With her long auburn hair and dark eyes, Morgana stands out amongst moon elves. She is clearly her mother's daughter. She isn't particularly tall and has a slender build. She has a pale skinc colour and soft facial features.

Impressions & Attitude

Morgana is not a very loud person. She tends to be very tranquil and observe whatever is going on rather than be shown acting unreasonably. Don't mistake her tranquility for kindness, though. She can perfectly voice her opinions and isn't afraid to voice them. She can come across as quite haughty and judgmental when she is around people who aren't her own kind.

Clothing

As someone who is very proud of her heritage, it should come to no surprise that Morgana's wardrobe is filled with garments in shades of green and gold — her family's colours. She also has an affinity for shades of blue, ranging from light- to a more electric blue. Her garments are often decorated with elaborate sleeves or some type of embroidery. Her long hair is often done in a half up-half down fashion that highlights her youthful face. She adores wearing simple and delicate gold jewelry.

Morgana is a person that tends to be reserved yet willful, with a rational outlook on life. At first, she might seem like a difficult person to get to know. She is selective and reticent, which can cause her to come across as stuck up. Her moon elf heritage plays a big part in her selectivity towards others. She is, however, a rather thoughtful person beneath her haughty exterior. Once you get to know her better, she shows an unwavering loyalty and she can be quite the wisecracker.

Her word is a promise and a promise means everything. Of course, none of her promises would mean much if she lost her tempers and broke down at every sign of hardship – she keeps her feet on the ground. She is quite the serious student and enjoys working hard for her academic achievements. Morgana is patient and determined, someone who meets her obligations, period. When she wants something finished, she can be very steadfast.

Because she exerts great effort to achieve her goals Morgana is often baffled by people who fail to hold themselves to the same standard. At times, she might unfairly misjudge people who can’t match her rigorous self-control. Even if she doesn’t speak these judgments aloud, her disdain can shine through regardless. Morgana believes that things work best with clearly defined rules, but this makes her reluctant to bend those rules or try new things. Truly unstructured environments leave her all but paralyzed.

Nowadays, it's just Yvaine and Morgana living on the Celaenor estate. Ever since the death of her father, Morgana has grown closer and closer to her mother. Even though she is an adult, Yvaine is still very protective of her. Morgana adores her mother, and very much enjoys spending time with her. She doesn't particularly mind Yvaine's exploits, she just wishes her mother to be happy. Because of her father, however, Morgana is very judgmental towards others, specifically anyone who isn't a moon elf.

Like all moon elves, Morgana is able to perform moon magic. Her expertise lies with the ability to perform illusionary spells. She can manipulate illusions, causing targets to see, hear, touch, smell or taste things differently from what they truly are. Physical illusions include distorting the shape or size of an object or area. More complex applications include causing targets to misinterpret the distance or number of an object. She mostly enjoys altering details in environments. Mental illusions include things such as altering memories. As someone who is able to perform illusions, Morgana is also able to potentially see through environmental, sensory and/or mental illusions that others attempt to deceive them with.

The more she practises, the easier performing illusions will become. She studies very hard and practises almost every day. As of now, Morgana is quite capable of performing physical illusions and has a particular talent for that. However, she can't perform her magic for a long time yet. Mental illusions are something which she has only recently started practising, and is only at a basic level. It also requires much more mental fortitude and focus. Once she is older, she'll be able to alter larger landscapes or make objects disappear. Eventually, she'll be able to make it seem as if she's disappeared herself.

CELAENOR FAMILY

The Celaenors have been stewards for the Aerendyls ever since the Aerendyls were granted the city of Silvercrest. While an Aerendyl governs the lands, a Celaenor has always managed the day-to-day activities to the land. Like his forefathers, Oberon Celaenor was a steward to Oropher Aerendyl and then to his son Andreas Aerendyl. His wife, Yvaine Celaenor, took care of their own family estate.

CHILDHOOD YEARS

Morgana Argive Caelia Celaenor was born as the only daughter of Oberon and Yvaine Celaenor. The girl grew up in the city of Silvercrest, having possibly everything handed to her from a young age. She was given the best tutors to mend her into a perfect noble girl. The little moon elf excelled in history, philosophy and poetry. Her parents also saw to it that she would practise her magic from a young age. It soon became clear that she had a talent for illusionary magic above all else, much to the satisfaction of her mother.

Morgana's father died when she wasn't even a teenager yet. The whole affair was rather traumatizing for the girl who so adored her father. He was the one who had always taught her about the importance of her family's heritage, and that she should be proud of it. It is because of him that Morgana still believes that moon elves are better than others. On his deathbed, he made the little girl promise she would never not be proud of who she was. After all, she was the future of the Celaenors.

TEENAGE YEARS

 Because of the death of her father, Morgana grew increasingly closer to her mother during her teenage years. They weren't particularly rowdy, mainly because the moon elf lived a rather sheltered life. She didn't venture outside Silvercrest much, as Yvaine liked to keep her close.  She didn't have many friends, except for other moon elves her age. Such as the Aerendyl children, who felt like a second family to her. But Morgana didn't mind, she enjoyed growing up like this.

ADULTHOOD

Morgana blossomed into a beautiful young woman. She doesn't care to venture outside of her comfort zone, why should she? Now that she's an adult, however, it also means that she's ready for the next step in her set journey: marriage. It is something she has always prepared for, dutifully following the path that her family has set out for her. But whether or not she's really ready to give up her freedom remains a question only Morgana knows the answer to.
