Disappear

Eli hated to hang around the castle, and he wouldn’t have showed his face if it wasn’t absolutely necessary. But he’d grown curious, and he needed a plan. Or at least the beginning of one. He’d brought his notebook, and had gone off to the upper ring once more with the goal of making notes on how to get into the castle without being noticed. It seemed like a mad plan, really. Eli felt incredibly stupid as he stared at the huge building. He wasn’t made for this, sneaking around and outsmarting people who had been trained to keep the best of thieves out. And once he was in, what exactly did he want to do? He put his notebook away with a sigh.

He was about to head home again, when he noticed a familiar face. “Allison,” he remarked a little surprised before he even realized he was saying anything out loud. Eli had the urge to run as soon as he spoke, but he stayed where he was, casually leaning against the brick wall hoping that the most important person in the city hadn’t heard him.
