Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows @Erek Trygg Lyall moved through the Tyrgg house, the family was out today. Where they had all gone to, however, he knew not. Perhaps they were all visiting Ve in his new place. Since he hadn't seen that lad here for quite some time. The black haired man hissed when a painful sting made his way along his arm. Quickly, the man checked the place of origin. Only to find a bleeding flesh wound on the inside of the palm of his hand. He must have gotten that in the training session he and his men just had. Fuck, how did he not notice that before?

The wound didn't seem too bad, though, nothing to be alarmed about. He could handle it himself just fine. Lyall took a seat in the empty dining hall. He moved his good hand to his small carrier bag he always had with him. And reached for a small bottle. It was a potion, one he had brewed himself. It was perfect for tears and gashes. The soldier cursed under his breath when he released the contents of the bottle on the injury. It stung like hell. But it worked. For the wound seemed to heal almost immediately. Lyall remembered when he told his parents about his intrests for potions and alike. Druid magic was common in their family. But many did not choose for that expertise. It was seen as a women's trade. And perhaps it was. But it sure came in handy when injured, something that a soldier often is.

He was needed back in Sleetspire, the letter said. It had arrived in the morning during breakfast and as soon as he was on his own, Erek had opened it. What he’d reply, he wasn’t sure yet. He knew he had to return to the city sometime. He had people there that he trusted to run things while he was gone, but Sleetspire needed him. He’d only recently become governor and his position was still too fresh to be gone for long. But he still felt that his family needed him more.

The internal conflict made him take a long walk to clear his head. By the end, he still didn’t have an answer. He stood still in front of the Trygg’s Ishgard residence for a moment before going inside. The door to the dining hall stood open and in passing by, Erek noticed someone treating a wound inside. A bottle was emptied on the injury. “Are you alright?” Erek asked when he came in, only then seeing how the flesh closed back up.

Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows @Erek Trygg All the Trygg's were out of the house, that is what he had thought. But low and behold. One of them just entered the room. Lyall recognized the man immediately. How could he not? Erek was the only member of old. Being the brother of the former governor. The young knight had a lot of respect for the man. The way he seemed to balance everything in his life. His work, as leader of Spleetspire. His family, not just Ran, Ve, and Nerys. But also raising his own children. Lyall wasn't sure if he would be able to juggle those things half as well if he had been in same position. The soldier stood up quickly and bowed to the man who was of a much higher rank than him. "Master Erek." Lyall said respectfully as he nodded.  “Are you alright?” The older man asked. Clearly referring to his injured hand. Though it wasn't as injured now. Thanks to his potion. Lyall smiled as he stepped forward. "Don't worry about me, my lord." He swung the now empty bottle in his hand. "I've had to heal much more severe wounds in my time." By gods had he. Especially when he was a ranger. The man shook his head. He didn't really want to think back to that time. Or what he had seen then. For they weren't at all pleasant.

The man stood up quickly and respectfully greeted him, but Erek was more focused on the wound he’d noticed… which was now closed up. “That’s quite the talent,” the governor spoke impressed. It hadn’t been a big wound as far as he’d seen, but still the potion had healed it quicker than he’d expected one to be able to. Then again, most of his experience with healing magic came from his own abilities and those worked quite differently than druidic magic. “You’re a druid?” Erek asked. He knew some things about druids, though definitely not all there was to learn. He’d mostly seen their powers in action when they’d been needed to care for his nephew or for his own son who, while not as weak as Ve, had had more than enough health troubles himself.

Sometimes your heart needs more time to accept what your mind already knows @Erek Trygg When the master, to Lyall looked up too; called his magic a "talent" He couldn't help but feel a little proud. Though he knew that the much older man was rather experienced with magic too. He even had an interest in healing. So Lyall had heard. But he couldn't say for certain. He didn't know the man that well, after all. “You’re a druid?” The governor then asked. And Lyall nodded. "It runs in the family." He said. It really did; most of his kin were druids. It was the dominant race in his family. Though there were some exceptions. Why, the uncle with whom he had traveled the world as a boy wasn't a druid. He wasn't a magic wielder at all. Just a man armed with his wits alone. Lyall then moved his hand through his hair. Directing some wayward curls out of his face. "But I'm really not good, my lord." He then said; perhaps tapping into his modest a bit. Since; well, he was a pretty experiences healer by all accounts. If he wanted too; he could make it his primary job, but. He didn't think he'd get much work. At least not here in the capitol. People wanted dainty nurses to care to their ailments. Not a gruff and though soldier like him. "When you've traveled as much as I have, you just pick up some things along the way."

So he was a druid, and it ran in his family. Erek had met other druids before and it seemed like with his magic, theirs was passed down from generation to generation as well. The most important difference was that the Tryggs needed to keep theirs a secret or face prosecution. “I’m afraid I can’t believe that,” Erek said with a smile when the man told him he wasn't that good at it. He was sure the other was underselling his abilities. He'd just seen him easily heal a cut with a potion; that did not seem like the work of someone who was really not that good.

Erek nodded at the man's next words. He could believe that. He'd learned a great many things by travelling himself. Going to foreign places and meeting people with different views meant learning new things and adapting. "So you travelled before you started working here?" He wondered what would motivate a man to work as a guard after experiencing all life had to offer.
