Radhja Daetrys (Queen of Xaila)

Details

As expected from a queen, Radhja dresses herself in fancy decorated gowns and dresses of the traditional Xailan colors. Her dresses are always long-sleeved, hiding the burn scars she received during her many accidents with magic. Another typical aspect about her clothing is that she's mostly veiled when outside, keeping her head safe from the burning rays of sunlight at her age. Her appearance is topped off with as much golden jewelry as she can carry. Most of it was a wedding gift from when she married the former Xailan King.

Radhja Daetrys is a woman with a sharp tounge, strong will and fiery temper which she often has hard time to control. She greatly values tradition and honor. Both within her kingdom and bloodline. Despite her fiery personality, she rules with her heart. She wants nothing but the best for her kingdom and her people, even if drastic measures sometimes need to be taken.

Radhja, like most members of the Daetrys family, has mastered the art of creating mighty flames from her fingertips. Practiced by using both meditation and breathing excercises, she has used the wisdom behind her years to master this magic. As fire is wild and unpredictable, even capable of hurting the user, the burn scars on her skin, mostly her arms make sure to show the progress she had to make in her journey towards mastering the element. Thanks to her temper, her expertise lies within the more explosive and wildfire-like attacks and usage, which is way you'll barely see her use her magic unless absolutely neccessary.

While everyone knows Radhja as the responsible Queen that she is today, she used to be quite the rebel of her family. Both of her parents tried their best to drive that rebel out of her within her childhood years, especially when she became older. As rightful heir to Xaila's throne she couldn't afford such irresponsibilities. Growing older and closer to her position as Queen, she began to realise this.

Radhja began to cover the increasing burns on her arms, both as a symbol of leaving her rebel past behind, and as a reminder of how powerful her magic could be. While still practicing her magic, she did so with a different mindset. The mindset of breathing excersises and meditation, things she needed to master aside from her magic if she wanted to become a worthy Queen. Over the years as she grew towards the throne, her fiery personality could be masked with that of a Queen. However, sometimes a spark of the old Radhja can be recognized behind the mask. Especially between the four walls of the palace, where it's just her and her family.
