Alyssia Rizal

While not allowed to go out much, Alyssia is always obligated to dress nicely. While her mother likes her to dress within Ravaryn's colors, Alyssia prefers lighter blue shades more. Convincing her mother that these shades of color make her feel calm, she is allowed to wear them sometimes.

Alyssia did not have much chance to develop her personality. She is often silent and agreeing without thinking about her own wishes or desires. Underneath her anxious personality, there's also a spark of curiosity towards the outside world. She is eager to learn, and tries to get her hands on as many books as possible without her mother noticing.  

Alyssia has the ability to gaze into the future. Quite literally, actually. By gazing into crystals, often her own crystal ball, she can see and predict future events. The more knowledge she has about the situation and the more she concentrates on her vision, the clearer her vision will be. The events within her crystals gain from flashing images of symbolism, to short, moving scenes that last a maximum of several seconds. This ability causes her a lot of exhaustion, which is why she'll often feel weak and tired after a session in which she uses a lot of concentration.

While being born within Lemuria, Alyssia remembers nothing of her short time within the seaside kingdom. Her consious childhood years have been spend in the lushious city between the snowy mountains and forests. While her gift didn't show until she was a little older, her mother believed heavily within the divination of their family member that had predicted Alyssia's gift. Of course she did. "A Rizal is never wrong". The words still echo through her mind on a daily basis now that she is a grownup. Heavily believing in her family's prediction, her mother has been drilling the practice of her divination gift ever since she was old enough to start. Through cards, crows and crystal gazing. The last method turned out to be the one.

Within her crystal sphere, she started to see small events happening. Whether it was one of her mother's crows that escaped, a shooting star that would fly over the same night, or a familiar face that she would later spot outside from behind her bedroom window. Small events which slowly evolved into bigger ones. Not allowed to leave the family property without her mother's permission, she spend most of her days gazing the hours away within her crystals.

As she grew older, she still wasn't allowed outside without her mother by her side. "It is dangerous being a Rizal," used to be her mother's excuse all the time. Apparently, not all people liked fortune tellers. Some of the trespassers gazes confirmed her mother's sayings as the two of them passed by on the streets, recognizable by the family crest on their cloaks.

Year's flew by, with her only company her family members inside of the house. Every day her mother would sit across her for hours, making her gaze within her crystals and telling her all about the prophecies she received. Sometimes they were clear as day, other times they were just images or symbolism needed to be interpreted. The interpretation was her weak spot, the spot that her mother perfectly strengthened.

Even though she has long reached adulthood, her mother still does not let her out of the family home without a companion. Sometimes said companion will be herself, but most times one of the guards of the family estate. Thanks to her many years spent on the family property, Alyssia has developed a fear of the outside world. A fear, but also a spark of curiosity. What would lie beyond the walls of the family estate? Is the world really that dangerous, or is there beauty to be found?
