Another way out

Rhy liked to travel little out of the city every now and then. Even though Ravaryn was nothing like Lemuria, it made him feel a little closer to home when he wasn’t in a city. He had grown up in a little village, after all. Especially at night, when he could look at the stars it felt like he was closer to whatever his life was a few years ago. The stars had remained unchanged over the years, or as far as he could see, anyway. It was one of the only things in his life that had stayed the same, however.

Even though it was dark, he was pretty sure he was alone. He was laying on the open field, his sword laying abandoned next to him and his horse grazing a little further away. His mind emptied as he temporarily closed his eyes. And for a brief moment, life was good. Considering these moments were rare for him, Rhy took a deep breath and let his guard down, unaware that he might have company after all.
