Details

Therion has a rough looking demeanour. His dark brown eyes, surrounded by natural dark circles make him look tired and stern, while he has a very soft personality. His brown hair is mostly uncapped and just flows in the wind, the most he does to it is rub his hands through it in the morning. His clothing depends on the land he is in at the moment, but he will always wear a kind of poncho around his shoulders. He's also covert in tattoos, ranging from small impulsive ones to meaningful ones from his travels. He stands tall and with confidence, to hide his own insecurity.

A stoic man, Therion is. He doesn't speak that often, but he speaks with wisdom whenever he does. His softspoken and sometimes even shy demeanour doesn't match with his rough looking exterior, which causes confusion more often than not. He's a deeply caring man, who often puts family and friends above his own need. Besides this, Therion is also deeply religious, praying whenever possible and making multiple trips to church or alter to do a prayer. Whenever he's not in Raveryn, he has a small prayer bead tied to his pants, so he can always do his prayers while on the road. However, the man is not without sin and to be able to do his Divinations, he has to resort to outside methods. When Therion is under influence, his demeanour changes and he becomes more chaotic and irrational.

Therion has the Rizal family sorcery, which means he can see glimpses of the future. His magic isn't that strong on his own and he can't really control it. This means that for the most part, he's just an ordinary guy. His magic needs a little push, and one that Therion can give it in the form of the usage of opioids. While under the influence of this, his visions are stronger and more detailed. He uses almost every day and is clearly addicted to it, but it feels like the only way to validate his sorcery.  

Born as the second chance for Dominic and Katherine Rizal, Therion was forced into a life he didn't actually want from the get go. Where his older brother had failed the family, he was the promised child that would inherit the Rizal family sorcery. From a very young age, Dominic tried to force the Divination magic upon his youngest son, trying every trick in the book to force a vision out of him, but without much success. Therion watches as his older brother was basically shunt away, while he just wanted to play together. In the meantime he was placed in small room after small room, hoping to get any trigger for his magic.
At the age of seven Dominic had almost given up, until little Therion fell sick and was placed on bed rest with a high fever. This was the first time that the boy experienced a vision, although it was a small one. He saw a vague vision about a strange man visiting his house and giving him some kind of drink. A few days later, the doctor came in and gave Therion a cough syrup with a painkiller. Proud about his vision, he wanted to tell his father. But before he got the chance, Therion experienced a more vivid and detailed vision while his fever had broken. It wasn't until days later that his mother suddenly had the realisation that it was the cough syrup that had triggered the visions. And thus Dominic started an experiment on the young boy, giving him different kinds of cough syrup to trigger the visions. After a few months of this 'abuse', Therion finally had a vision without the syrup and thus Dominics experiment stopped. His youngest son got the Rizal name, even though his Divination magic was weak, it was purely for the status of his parents. After this, Therion's childhood was relatively easy-going.

Years later, his older brother found himself a girlfriend and soon to be wife. They would travel to Xaila to get married and Therion opted to come with them. He was done in Raveryn, done with their parents and wanted to see the world. Jorgen agreed and Therion went with him, as his best man. He decided to travel around Xaila and after that continue on towards the other lands. He wanted to see the world, see how much it differ from what he was used to.
Once he heard the news that he had become an uncle, Therion travelled back to Xaila, met his new born nephew and decided to stay in the sun-rich land. He started working part time as a detective, helping and using his visions to giver out mysteries around the land. In his free time, Therion was found in one underground opium, feeding more painkillers to trigger his visions. The fact that he was addicted to it, was a deeply guarded secret. For a couple of years, Therion stayed in Xaila, until his youngest nephew was born. Exactly what went wrong, was never made clear. He went to his brothers for the baby shower, where his other nephew started screaming at him. Therion has no clear memory of what happened to Lubayd, clearly because of the drugs his took before hand, but the next moment he remembers was the baby on the ground, lifeless and his brother screaming at him. Therion turned around that day, left Xaila and went back to his travels.

Now, years later, he's still traveling. Going from place to place, trying to find some easy work to do on the road, or help out if mysteries with his divinations. He's also still working on a way into Ashmoor, but knows that it would be almost impossible to get into. He tried to write a letter to his brother, but never got a replay and has no idea how it's going with his remaining nephew. For now, he's just trying to live his life without putting to much attention to himself. Something that seems to be working.
