Castellan Gray

Castellan was born and raised in Ravaryn. He grew up with both of his parents and his younger brother, Varian, in the small village not far away from the Sleetspire mines in which his father worked. His mother stayed at home in order to take care of her two sons since her husband was away for most of their lives. Constantly traveling through the mountains between Sleetspire and their home was too dangerous, so Dùghall lived there for most time of the year. He often returned to his home and family during frostcrown and nightreign since it was both too cold to work in the miles and to protect his family.  From a young age, Castellan and Varian their dad persuaded him to follow his footsteps and work in the mines since their family had been working there for generations long. However both of the brothers resented that idea. Castellan always wanted to be a traveling merchant, while Varian wanted to travel alongside of him to study their surroundings as he was passionate about biology. But, trying not to dissapoint their father they never told him. Their mom, however, did notice that they both had different dreams. So she decided to teach them amore about her family. When the boys were 10 and 12 years old she started to introduce them to Dark magic. She was a Dark mage. She didn't have much power, unlike others who were able to control this magic, but she had a lot of knowledge which she passed over to her sons, especially Varian who seemed to be natural. As a young girl, her father taught her to fight, which she brought over onto Castellan who was more interested in knives and swords. When Varian was 17 and Castellan 19 they moved out of their family house. Their father disowned them after they refused to bring over that part of their family legacy. They had a bright future ahead of them with power in their hands. But before they were even able to leave the area of Sleetspire they were attacked by a Lycanthrope. Varian fell victim to the claws and teeth of the vicious creature and ended up not surviving his wounds. Castellan was left devastated, not knowing what he was going to do without the company of his brother. He wandered the realm for several years. Gathering knowledge, slaying monsters, you name it. The years went on by. One day he bumped into Amora. A lost little sheep with the power of Dark magic on her hands. Castellan took her in. He knew more than most regular humans about Dark magic even though he had never managed to actually control magic himself. Most likely because he wasn't as religous or passionate as his brother was. With a new mage on his side he was able to get back onto his original plan.

• Castellan has a horse called Brook. It's a chestnut mare which he bought a couple of years ago. She has been his loyal and brave company (besides Amora ofcourse)
